With its consistently realised concept of a family hotel built exclusively of natural building materials, the hotelier Anselm Graubner from Weimar celebrated a huge success both from a gastronomical as well as an architectural standpoint. For the interior fittings and wall design in the Weimar Family Hotel, the planners and the client chose to use clay from CLAYTEC.
The newly built hotel is located in the middle of the historic city centre of Weimar and presents timber and clay construction in perfection and a contemporary aesthetic, entirely in the style of a timeless, functional objectivity which pays homage to the great architectural history of the "Bauhaus city". The inner sides of the outer walls were covered with clay basecoat plaster, and the wall surfaces of the interior spaces are decorated with YOSIMA clay designer plaster.
Anselm Graubner's idea of making urban holidays attractive for families with children as well has been extremely well-received, as the number of overnight guests demonstrates. For the client himself, the significance of the family hotel project extends far beyond the gastronomic aspect alone. "Great construction needs to be shown via examples", and a hotel is an optimal showcase model. This is because by personally experiencing how the materials wood and clay impact the indoor climate, the guest receives the best inspiration for his own projects. Ideally, each guest will become a multiplier for great construction.
