The client wished to re-purpose the barn structure, which had been standing vacant for years, into a holiday home. It was a special challenge for the architect Jan Rösler: The original facade openings were to be preserved and serve as the entirety of the illumination.
The inside of the building, which contrasts with the rough exterior, can only be seen during the presence of its inhabitants. When nobody is home, the building once again has its original character of a stables.
Where technically possible, exclusively sustainable building materials were used for this project, which has since then received multiple awards. CLAYTEC building materials used: Mineral clay plaster, clay base plaster with straw, fine clay plaster, soft wooden fibreboards, clay panels
