Straw Clay

raw straw-clay mass for repairs and renewals of infill and for the trussed ceiling filling. "Loam loam" is the original form of loam building material in timber-framed construction. The straw-clay mixture was prepared with animal power and installed by "Kleiber" - the clay craftsman. The earth-moist mixture is best prepared with a mixing paddle and spread plastically tough with a trowel on the wattle or trellis. Straw Clay ANTIK contains particularly long straw.

Fields of application
Repair and reconstruction of loam infill in half-timbered restoration, for loam fillings of historic wooden beam ceilings. 04.005 Straw loam antique contains a lot of straw and longer straw as a particularly authentic product for the preservation of monuments.
04.004 Straw loam: natural building loam up to 5 mm, sand 0-8 mm, barley straw up to 10 cm04.005 Straw loam antique: natural building loam up to 5 mm, sand 0-8 mm, half barley straw up to 10 cm and barley straw unchopped. Note: Also the unchopped straw is chopped up in the preparation process

04.005 antique straw clay: bulk density approx. 1.400 kg/m3 (thermal conductivity 0.59 W/mK, µ 5/10)
Delivery forms, yield
Soil moisture in 1.0 t big bags (results in 700 l of straw loam mass ready for processing)
Store in a dry place. Earth-moist straw loam should be processed at the latest 3 months after production.
Earth-moist goods must be stored in winter in such a way that they are protected from freezing through, otherwise their processability during frost is impaired.
